The beach of Astrakeri is nested (nestled) on the North coast of Corfu, at a distance of 39km from the capital of the island, on the road towards the popular Roda. According to the local corfiot dialect “Astrakeri” means the location, that is covered by astrakes.

It is an ideal beach for families, as the shallow water and the vast sandy beach, not in length but in width, will thrill children specially on the days that are not windy, a common phenomenon for the North shores of Corfu.

The beach is relatively organized, as the swimmers can easily find umbrellas and sun beds to rent, while there are also small taverns. The very long gulf were the fishermen tie their boats is distinctive on the beach of Astrakeri and is perfect for a walk
